Last year, Sibers teamed up with the American University of Central Asia to create courses which give students an opportunity to build on academic foundations in programming with practical experience. Our first course on programming for iOS with Objective-C was a success, and with several former students joining our team as interns, we had no doubt about continuing our educational project.
This autumn, we focused our new course on web-development using PHP-technologies. The course was intended to be as rigorous as possible so that after passing, the student would have the knowledge and skills to develop an interactive websites using PHP and MySQL.

The number of students wanting to enroll in the new course exceeded all expectations, so much so we had to split students into two groups for practical labs! The first lecture was attended by more than 60 people, and during this first semester we held 10 lectures and 20 practical labs — 10 for each group.
By the end of the course, the 20 best students passed their final exam and received well-earned certificates of excellence. As in the previous year, we were able to offer a few of them internships in Sibers.

We were glad to share our development experience with students and hope that we can continue with our educational mission in the coming semesters.
