Web Development Team

Numbering 60 web coders, Web Development is Sibers’ largest team and covers a wide platform range including PHP, ASP.NET, Java, Google Web Toolkit, and Node.js, along with client-side platforms like JavaScript, Ajax, jQuery, HTML5/CSS3, and Microsoft Silverlight. With such a large team, it isn’t surprising that there are five team leaders — one for each platform set, except for PHP, which has two.

In addition to their technological savvy, these teams are known for their various office-gaming addictions: Counter Strike and Worms, table tennis, foosball, air hockey, the list goes on. And to be honest, their gaming skills are as well-honed as the cutting-edge solutions they develop for Sibers’ global clientele.

Valery Makarenko, PHP Team Leader at Sibers

Valery Makarenko

PHP Team Leader, Front-end Team Leader

Valery is one of Sibers’ most experienced web developers, having begun his programming career way back in 1982. He joined Sibers in 2002, when the development team numbered only six people, and his unquestioned expertise soon created a strong foundation upon which a larger Web Development team was built. Valery is truly unique in that he is able to artfully combine his many years of experience, which consists of established, time-proven development techniques and approaches, with new, boundary-pushing programming ideas and tools.

Valery loves biking, hiking and photography, and he’s managed to combine all three into one favorite holiday activity: every year he spends a month walking and biking in the mountains of Russia, Spain, Thailand and Tibet. Upon return, he always shares his photo and video memories with the team. And in other news, many people believe that stroking Valery’s beard will bring them good luck.

Andrey Kharchenko, Java Team Leader at Sibers

Andrey Kharchenko

Java Team Leader

Andrey is the type of software developer who isn’t intimidated by any programming language, simply because he knows them all inside and out. No project or idea is impossible, and it’s no stretch to say that whatever you can imagine, Andrey and his team can program. This is no joke — since beginning his programming career in 1996, Andrey has worked with almost every platform known to man: C#, Java, C++, Objective-C, SQL, JavaScript, JSP, HTML, XML, PHP, Perl, Unix Shell scripting languages, and many more.

He has university degrees in Physics and Information Platforms, and it’s this fundamental knowledge which helps him manage his team and execute successful projects while simultaneously absorbing every new programming language that comes his way.

Vitaly Koltsov, C# Team Leader at Sibers

Vitaly Koltsov

ASP.NET Team Leader

All Microsoft platforms are under the strict and thoughtful stewardship of this inquisitive man. Vitaly has found a perfect balance of being a cheerful party lover and a responsible head of department. Since Vitaly’s team works with all Microsoft platforms, it’s a breeze for them to write C/C++, C# and XAML code to create native Windows Phone apps that will also run on Windows desktop. The team can also use C# with Xamarin to create cross-platform code for native iOS, Android and Windows Phone mobile applications simultaneously. Not surprisingly, Vitaly’s exceptionally talented team has successfully completed hundreds of large-scale projects. Plus, they’re the undisputed corporate foosball and poker champions.

In addition to being a respected innovator in the latest Windows platforms, Vitaly is an enthusiastic runner and a loving father to his adorable daughter and little son.
