From the fifth through the seventh of October 2012, BarCamp took place in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
BarCamp is an international conference format which is fully organized and carried out by its participants. BarCamp takes shape in its reports, trainings, presentations and discussions.
One of the presentations at the conference
For two and a half days, Sibersers from our Kyrgyz branch actively participated in the conference. Our colleagues, the founders of Bishkek Google Developers Group, also made a presentation on the development of an Android and Arduino platform + ADK + Google stuff (Google TV, Nexus Q) at the GeekCamp section.
Sibers also attended as a potential sponsor for the various startups who presented at BarCamp. By now, our colleagues have chosen the most interesting project and offered their assistance on its development. The project we chose turned out to be the one on creating a resource on the MediaWiki engine which describes the different monuments, buildings and places of interest in Bishkek; there, QR-codes will be placed linking the viewer to the place's description.
We hope that the result of our participation at BarCamp Kyrgyzstan will go live soon. After all, we do have selfish interests in the sponsorship; Sibersers love to visit our southern office in Bishkek, and such a resource makes exploring the city much more interesting.
Thanks to all participants for an amazing event!
