Recently our sales and marketing team have visited two events in Dubai — the SGI Printing Exhibition and North Star at GITEX. The choice of events is derived from the impulse to showcase our expertise in digital printing and development for startups. Truth is, it was our first acquaintance with conferences in the Middle East and Africa; and after some introspection we can say it was really useful.
SGI Printing Exhibition
SGI Dubai is the region's largest trade exhibition for the printing industry. The show attracted over 300 exhibitors such as print production houses, gift& promotion companies, media agencies, packaging manufacturers, 3D printing companies, architects, and brand consultants among other stakeholders in the printing, signage, and imaging industries.
At the SGI Printing Exhibition our VP Sales Andrey and IT consultant Daniel came as visitors. They had a look at the newest digital printing technologies, saw how different software solves business problems. We were happy to witness innovations from global leaders in the industry such as HP, Canon, Epson, and Mimaki.
North Star at GITEX
GITEX is the largest and most inclusive tech and startup event with more than 100k of attendees and 5k of exhibitors. It covers every major technology player, trend and vertical, including such sectors as smart cities, cybersecurity, the data economy, mobility, healthcare and telecoms. It is divided into 7 tech communities — AI Everything, Future Blockchain Summit, Fintech Surge, Marketing Mania, X-Verse, Global Devslam, and the startup community the North Star.
We were exhibitors at the North Star as a development service provider focusing on helping startups. There were four of us — mentioned Andrey and Daniel plus IT consultant Vladimir and a Marketing Manager Liza. Fun fact, during the first day we stood under the flag of France. Fortunately, by the beginning of the second day the flag had been changed to American as it should be.
Nevertheless, the GITEX was really impressive — it was a shock how big the event was. We didn't expect to meet so many people — our pockets were definitely not ready for such an amount of business cards. The shock was good, though. We’ve got a lot of useful connections, and saw the possibility to expand the geography of our clients aiming to the Arab countries and Africa. Meeting the potential clients in person was inspiring, and for all four of us it was an emotional and communicational burst.
Thank you all who visited our exhibition stand, we were happy to talk! Hope to see you next year!
